/ Work the Farm
Come one, come all, come volunteer with us! It takes many hands to make our big green dreams a reality. Our urban farm at Garinger High School benefits from the established team structure of your group, and the group benefits from the nurturing and growing energy of the garden. Or volunteer with us solo and work side-by-side with our farm managers—learning the ropes and getting the benefit of their vast knowledge of experience while helping them make the farm magic happen.
Grow by gardening with us; we’ll teach you how! Click for our volunteer application form for either groups or individuals. See details in the side bar to the right.
/ Garden Network
Put your green thumb to work for your community! Join our garden network.
Our garden network consists of schools, faith organizations, community gardens and backyards across Mecklenburg County, growing fresh produce for Friendship Trays, Charlotte’s primary meals-on-wheels program and for The Bulb, a mobile market program delivery food to food insecure areas countywide and beyond.
Is becoming a member of the Garden Network family the right fit for you?
- Would you enjoy sharing what comes from your garden?
- Can you transport your harvest to Friendship Trays?
- Are you willing to plant a little more to help feed hungry neighbors in your community?
Send us a message if you’re interested in joining us.
/ Help the Market
Currently, The Bulb is serving four food insecure neighborhoods per week. We are seeking out how to do it daily. To volunteer, click here for The Bulb’s website. The Bulb, like Friendship Gardens, is a programmatic arm of Friendship Trays.
